In our exhibition, "Visual Voices: Truth Narratives," is Elhan Ergin's ceramic sculpture titled, "Chained Woman."
"Chained Woman" is inspired by the changes that have occurred in her country, Turkey, over the last decade that resulted in a deterioration of women’s rights and liberty.
Elhan has been addressing pressing public issues, especially gender stereotypes and the condition of women in Turkey's changing political scene, through her work since 2008. Her work is analytical and hopes to show the audience a different point of view.
